What is power.
Power is how much strength is required to push an article.
Before knowing how to calculate the power, Just understand how the power is scale .
Power scaled by (W) Watt.
Power can be calculated as followed.
Power(W) =Current(Ah) * Voltage (V).
A -> amperes. V->Volt W -> Power
Example 1
A video uses 30 A at 12 V. Its power
requirement in watts is:
30 A × 12 V = 360 W
Example 2
A pump uses 10 A at 48 V. Its power
requirement in watts is:
10 A × 48 V = 480 W
Example 3
A light uses 1.5 A at 12 V. Its power
requirement is:
1.5 A × 12V = 18W
Example 4
If a refrigerator using 120 W requires a current
of 10 A, what voltage is present?
?? V × 10 A = 120 W
120W ÷ 10A = 12 V
And Final one : Practical Question
If a 24 W light is connected to a 12 V source of electricity, how much current
will flow?
12 V × ?? A = 24 W
24 ÷ 12 = 2 A
What is Energy?
The terms power and energy are often confused.
Power is the ability to do work.
Energy is the total actual work that is done. A large, strong man may have great
power but if he is lazy and sleeps all day, he does little work and produces little
energy.
